New Richmond Exempted Village School District is continuing its search for its next superintendent.
On Jan. 24, the school board announced that it has contracted with the Ohio School Boards Association to help with the search.
The new superintendent will fill the position left vacant with former NREVSD Superintent Tracey Miller retired at the start of 2025.
Currently, Dr. Jill Hollandsworth is serving as the NREVSD interim superintendent.
The school board aims to complete the search and announce the name of its selected candidate in March.
OSBA consultant Cheryl Ryan will meet with staff and community in several focus groups on Feb. 12.
“The focus groups are intended to help clarify the profile we’ve developed for our next district leader. Common themes will help as we evaluate potential candidates for an interview,” reads the announcement.
The discussions will focus on getting input in three main areas:
– Major issues, challenges or opportunities for our district;
– Performance experience or expectations for the next superintendent; and
– Leadership characteristics that should be evident in the next superintendent.
The focus groups will be held at the district’s central offices at 1135 Bethel-New Richmond Rd. The times/audiences for the four focus groups are:
– 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. – classified staff members
– 11:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. – administrators
– 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. – certified staff members
– 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. – open to any NREVSD community member
On behalf of each of the five members of the Board of Education, thank you in advance for your willingness to participate and for your dedication to all students in our district.
