There are perhaps no high school sports more anonymous than swimming. Student-athletes often get up before dawn and commute through freezing temperatures to jump into the water – all of that work building toward what starts this weekend.
The Eastern Cincinnati Conference hosts its annual swimming championships Jan. 25 at Mason High School. Only once since the league’s formation in 2012 has a Clermont County school won a swimming title – Milford’s boys in 2018-2019. Kings last won four of the five girls meets since then, with Walnut Hills disrupting that streak in 2022-2023. Turpin has nine of the 12 girls titles; Kings two and Walnut Hills one.
