Members of the West Clermont High School Marching Band will be stopping at neighborhood homes to fundraise for the school’s marching band program.

July 22 is West Clermont School District’s Tag Day, a community-wide event through which West Clermont Bands, a non-profit organization, generates support.

On that day, members of the West Clermont High School Marching Band will visit homes throughout the West Clermont School District. They’ll be requesting donations by distributing tags in neighborhoods, according to a press release.

Neighbors can scan the QR code printed on the door hangers to learn how to monetarily support the band; the donations will be used to hire clinicians, cover competition and transportation costs, and purchase much-needed items such as instruments and uniforms.

To celebrate, families, neighbors, and community members are invited to attend Jamfest, a free event on Aug. 4 featuring the marching band.

Jamfest will take place in the WCHS Stadium from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Additional information about Tag Day and Jamfest can be found on the band’s website.

West Clermont High School Marching Band is led by Director Brian Fischer, Assistant Director of Percussion Ryan Reed, Assistant Director of Visual Zach Poller, Assistant Director of Woodwinds Lydia Myers, and Assistant Director of Color Guard Lexi Adkins.

The marching band includes 140 musicians and color guard members and is led by drum majors senior Joey Young, junior Eli Daniels, junior Ja’Vonte Lee, and sophomore Bailey West.

The marching band’s 2023 field show is called “Switched.”

Over the course of the season, these students will spend more than 250 hours memorizing music, mastering drill, and refining the show, according to a press release.

West Clermont High School is located at 4101 Bach Buxton Road in Batavia and is part of the West Clermont Local School District. To contact the band for performances, make a donation, or become a sponsor, please contact booster.president@wcwolvesband.com.
