The Board of Trustees of the US Grant Homestead Association of Georgetown has named its newest member.
Former Administrator of the Village of New Richmond and the current Vice President of Historic New Richmond, Greg Roberts, has joined the Board of Trustees of the US Grant Homestead Association of Georgetown.
Roberts is also a director of the Ohio Freedom Corridor, representing Ohio.
The US Grant Homestead Association was formed in 1972 and manages the Grant Boyhood Home, Memorial Grant Schoolhouse, and other Grant sites in Georgetown, Ohio.
Stan Purdy, president of the U.S. Grant Homestead Association, said that Roberts is a lifelong student of history, especially of Ulysses S. Grant, newly ranked General of the Armies of the United States.
Roberts said that he is honored to join the board of the U. S. Grant Homestead Association.
“The partnership between the Grant Homestead Association and the U. S. Grant Birthplace has a long tradition. The Grant Bicentennial celebrations in 2022 brought positive national attention to the Land of Grant in Brown and Clermont Counties,” Roberts said, adding, “I look forward to working with my fellow board members to build upon the past in promoting the region’s significant role in the ongoing struggle to bring freedom and equality to all Americans. Our shared native son, Ulysses S. Grant, exemplifies our country’s most basic ideals like no other in our history.”
