On Wednesday, Jan. 22, a recognition ceremony was held to honor students that completed adult courses and received an industry certification at either a Southern Hills CTC or Grant Career Center campus.
During the six-month period of July 1 through December 31, 2019, there were 60 students that completed courses and received certifications. The sixty students attended the following programs:
CDL– Five students completed the 200-hour course and passed the CDL exam to obtain their Class A CDL from the Ohio Department of Transportation. The five students are Joshua Adams, Tanner Carroll, Tony Hodge, Robin Lykins and Derrick Prichett.
EKG – Six students completed the 72-hour course and passed the NHA exam to obtain their EKG certification. The six students are: Autumn Blake, Regina DeBell, Brad Ferguson, Sierra Hammons, Rebecca Lanthron and Hayley Watson.
CCMA – Nine students completed the 140-hour course and passed the NHA exam to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. The nine students are: Ashley Cox, Amber Falck, Lisa George, Morgan Green, Stacey Hauck, Shannon Johnson, Lorinda Locke, Kimberly Smith and Kayla Walters.
Welding AWS- Two students completed the 600-hour full time welding program and received three or four AWS welding certifications. The two students are: Gary Jones and Gary Pettit.
STNA – Twenty-seven students completed the 76-hour program and passed the STNA exam to become a State Tested Nursing Assistant. The twenty-seven students are: Carrie Ashworth, Christina Bingham, Brandi Birchfield, Jennifer Brewer, Courtney Campbell, Abby Carroll, Amanda Davis, Patricia Doty, Angela Figgins, Jenna Fightmaster, Teresa Forbes, Kansie Garrity, Farrah Gatts, Elizabeth Harvey, Kyla Hensley, Jessica James, Cheyenne James, Amber Jones, Courtney Jones, Elizabeth Miller, Gabrielle Morrison, Lexus Parm, Kylie Schrichten, Summer Sweet, Emilee Thomas, Cheryl Toppin, and Kaitlyn Ward.
LAW ACADEMY- Five students completed the 728-hour Basic Peace Officer Academy and passed the exam to become a certified Peace Officer. The five students are: Timothy Brookbank, Kayla Martin, Billy Parker, Zachariah Smith and Mikeal Stephens.
