Sunrise Manor in Amelia is excited to host a veteran’s program with local author, photographer and Vietnam veteran, Ken Williamson on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 P.M. Ken served in Vietnam in 1969 with the Army Engineers as a photographer. He will be sharing his photography and talking about his two return trips to Vietnam in 1998 and 2005.
Ken’s recently published book, “Saying Goodbye to Vietnam,” is a photographic memoir documenting his service experiences. The 65,000-word manuscript is beautifully illustrated with over 450 of Ken’s photographs of Vietnam, including those from return trips to Vietnam in 1998 and 2005. Letters between Ken and his wife, Janet, and from friends and relatives to Ken provide a glimpse into the personal lives of two people having their first child while being separated by war. The high quality, hard-bound book is a numbered, limited edition with only 750 copies published.
Ken is a member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 649 in Clermont County and District 3 Director for the Buckeye State Council, Vietnam Veterans of America. More information about the book is available at www.sayinggoodbyetovietnam.com.
