Glen Este triumphs in Crosstown Showdown; Goshen and Amelia also win season openers

Glen Este, Goshen, and Amelia were Clermont County’s triumphant teams during the opening week of the high school varsity football campaign. Glen Este became the first county team to compete in the Crosstown Showdown and did the county proud by returning home with a 28-7 victory over Ryle, Ky.

Milford will honor its state playoff gridders Friday

Milford High School will be remembering a very happy time as its honors the varsity football team of 1986, the school’s only state playoff qualifying team. The event will take place Aug. 25 before the Eagles’ season and home opening game. Turpin will provide the competition in a game that will begin at 7:30 p.m. There will be a tailgate party before the game in the shot put area at the east end of the stadium.

Williamsburg and Clermont County football legend Ken Osborne will be back on the sidelines of the gridiron again, but for the first time at Batavia.

Durbin new CNE grid coach

Josh Durbin is the new head football coach at Clermont Northeastern High School. This season will be the seventh that Durbin has coached at CNE.

Williamsburg High Sports Hall of Fame nominations process ready to begin

The athletic department of Williamsburg High School will soon be accepting nominations for its athletic hall of fame. The nomination process begins Sept. 4 and will continue through Oct. 23.

Glen Este will play in Crosstown Showdown

Glen Este will begin its varsity football season a day later than the other eight county teams, but its a good late. The Trojans are the first Clermont County team to be invited to compete in the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown. This is the ninth year for the event.
