Roger Fisher, 87

Roger Wesley Fisher, 87, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009. Mr. Fisher served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was stationed in Greenland. He was a member of the Wesleyan Church. Interment at Graceland Memorial Gardens.

Hazel Hacker, 87

Hazel C. Chadwell Hacker, 87, of Summerside, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at her residence. She was born July 31, 1922, the baby of 11 children born to Floyd and Jane Chadwell. Funeral services were held Oct. 30 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia.

Nicholas Stozic, 104

Nicholas Stozic, 104, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009. He was born Jan. 31, 1904. Mr. Stozic was a decorated World War II hero, a former POW and the oldest original member of the 82nd Airborne Division. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Alice Weatherspoon, 84

Alice R. Pollitt Weatherspoon, 84, of Bethel, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009. She was born Aug. 22, 1925. Funeral services were held Nov. 4 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Bethel.

Dale Carr, 60

Dale Eugene Carr, 60, of Goshen, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009. He was a minister at the Goshen Church of Christ. Funeral services were held Oct. 30, at Evans Funeral Home.

Roy McLemore, 68

Roy Darrell McLemore, 68, of Jackson Township, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, in Miami Township. Mr. McLemore had worked as an investigator for the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Interment at Greenberry Cemetery in Jackson Township.

Sylvia Johnson, 80

Sylvia Gertrude Johnson, 80, of Milford in Miami Township, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, in Milford. Mrs. Johnson had worked as a cook in the Milford Schools. Funeral services were held Oct. 29 at Evans Funeral Home.

Leona Johnson Atkins, 85, of Nashville, Tenn., died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009. She was born Sept. 12, 1924 in Marathon, the daughter of H.C. and Merle Johnson.

Carmen Dufresne, 90

Carmen “Connie” Dufresne, 90, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009. She was born July 28, 1919. Visitation will be held 9 – 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 at St. Thomas More Church in Withamsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. at the church.

Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Nicholas Uremovich, 89

Nicholas Uremovich, 89, of Amelia, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009. He was born Nov. 26, 1919. He served in the U.S. Army and was awarded a Purple Heart for his heroic struggle against enemy forces during the Battle of the Bulge.
