Kenneth P. Anstaett, 84, of Batavia, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009. Mr. Anstaett served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force and was the business owner of Anstaett Farm Service, Anstaett Brothers Oil and Anstaett Dodge for more than 50 years. He had served as president of the Batavia School Board, president of the Batavia Rotary, was a member of the American Legion Post 237, member of Batavia VFW and was active in the Clermont County Republican Party. Funeral services were held Feb. 16, at Batavia Faith United Methodist Church. Interment at Batavia Union Cemetery.
Amelia “Amy” Mohr Kelly, 94, of Milford, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, in Symmes Township. She had been a claims clerk for insurance companies. Funeral services were held Feb. 11, at Evans Funeral Home.
Dennis M. Evans, 59, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009. Funeral services were held Feb. 14, at E. C. Nurre Funeral Home, in Amelia. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Lauren Bernice Combs-Glisson, infant daughter of Sarah Combs and Corey Glisson, of Camp Dennison, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, in Montgomery. Funeral services were held Feb. 11, at Evans Funeral Home.
Robert E. Norton, 81, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2009. Funeral services were held Feb. 10, at E. C. Nurre Funeral Home, in Amelia. Interment at Graceland Memorial Gardens.
Michael John Sabota, 88, of Stonelick Township, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, in Stonelick Township. Mr. Sabota retired from the United States Navy after serving during World War II, the Korean War and in Vietnam.
James Robert “Jim Bob” Grooms Sr., 62, of Tiffin Township, in Adams County, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at his residence. A memorial service was held Feb. 9, at Kinfolk’s Landing Park, in Ellison Square, in Manchester.
The Reverend Joseph Peter Andres, 87 of Milford, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, in Mariemont. He was a retired priest. Funeral services were held Feb. 6, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, in Montgomery.
Eleanore Maxwell Dial, 79, of Batavia, died Jan. 18, 2009. Mrs. Dial had been a professor of Spanish at Iowa State University before her retirement. A memorial service is planned 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Faith United Methodist Church, 180 North Fifth Street, Batavia.
Thelma Lenora Barat, 97, of Milford, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, in Milford. Mrs. Barat had been self-employed as a baby sitter. Private graveside services were held at Greenlawn Cemetery.
