Twentieth anniversary of Clermont 20/20 observed

Clermont 20/20 Inc. celebrated its 20th anniversary with a business luncheon meeting at Holday Inn Eastgate, March 4. Attendance was more than 100 people. Andrew McCreanor, left, current Executive Director stands with John Melvin, a chair emeritus and the last surviving founding father of the community service and leadership organzation that states its mission is “to serve as a catalyst to bring people together to improve the quality of life in Clermont County.”

Easter egg hunt held

An Easter egg hunt was held in Pierce Township Saturday April 3, 2010. More than 400 children and parents attended and over 5,000 candy filled eggs were distributed for children. Children had their photos taken with the Easter Bunny.

Interparish Ministry’s annual Soup Bowl Celebration set

Grant students compete at regional championships

Students from the Grant Career Center Chapter of SkillsUSA brought back 11 state-qualifying medals from the South Central Regional Skill Championships held in early March at the Delaware Area Career Center North and South, Columbus State Community College, and the Sheet Metal Workers Local #24Apprenticeship Training Hall, all in the Columbus area.

Paper clovers support Clermont 4-H Clubs

Buy a paper clover and support the Clermont County 4-H program! The Tractor Supply Company (TSC) store located at 1159 state Route 32 in Batavia, will sell paper 4-H clovers for $1 or more through April 18.

Weather spotters needed

Are you one of those people glued to NOAA weather radio waiting for the next forecast? Are you fascinated by tornadoes and super cell thunderstorms? If so, you might want to take the next step and become an official weather spotter. The Clermont County Emergency Management Agency will hold Weather Spotter Training on Tuesday, April 6 at the Goshen Middle School Cafeteria.

Exercise held for Clermont emergency responders

Imagine a train going off its tracks after hitting a truck, and one of the tanker cars spewing a large chlorine cloud into the air. Then, add snow, ice, and hazardous temperatures to the formula while emergency responders try to evacuate people living in the area, establish warming centers, set-up roadblocks and evacuation routes out of the collision site.

Forest-Aires dissect a musical

Ever wondered how a Broadway musical gets assembled? The Forest-Aires women’s chorus will walk you through the process in their spring show, “Encore! 2010 – Anatomy of a Musical.” A number of Clermont County women sing in the chorus. In “Anatomy of a Musical,” you’ll find the ingredients of a Broadway show.

Ohio health director visits Clermont

The Clermont County General Health District was visited by Ohio Department of Health Director Alvin D. Jackson, M.D., who had several compliments for the district. Jackson has been making an effort to visit all of the state’s 129 health districts since he took office in 2007.

Boys & Girls Club celebrates programs that shape young lives

Boys & Girls Clubs of Clermont County joins Boys & Girls Clubs across America this week to celebrate National Boys & Girls Club Week, March 21-27, by hosting several events to emphasize the importance and value of the Clubs to the New Richmond community. The organization invites everyone to come visit the facility and see first-hand the impact being made on today’s youth.
