Williamsburg High School was represented at The American Legion Buckeye Boys State this year by four seniors. Landen Ridener, Matthew McPhillips, Jacob Wells, and Cameron Hart were ‘burg’s delegates at this annual event. This year’s conference was moved from Bowling Green University to Miami University in Oxford.

In the words of Matthew McPhillips, It was an awesome experience to be a part of the enthusiasm and excitement that a 1240 crowd of young men could muster.

Here there were no strangers, and everyman was equal. Here each and every man found a place in their brotherhood.

The four Williamsburg representatives were amazed by the dedication of the counselors, legionaries and all of the staff. Words cannot accurately describe what The American Legions Buckeye Boys State is truly about and what it means to share this experience with the “best of the best” in the state of Ohio. We are and will always be brothers in the family of Buckeye Boy’s State alumni.

A special THANK YOU is given to all the local businesses in and around Williamsburg for their monetary support, making it possible for these delegates to attend this life changing event.

Also they would like to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to American Legion Post #288 for giving them this opportunity.
