Batavia’s Art in August Street Fair is coming back around this year for its second iteration to celebrate art, local businesses, music and the village of Batavia.

Organized by Vicki Watkins, owner Under the Stars on Main Street; Kathy McCoy Leone, owner of the Village Art House, an art school and gallery in Batavia; and Martha Enriquez, owner of Pine Lane Soaps, a business that sells soaps produced from goat’s milks, the first Art in August was held last summer.

Frankie Hann, of Loveland, works on a painting at her booth at Art in August, a new event held in the village of Batavia on Aug. 20, 2016. This year’s event is Aug. 19, 2017.

“We want to have people come down and see what a wonderful village we have,” Watkins told The Sun last year. “We hope the event will help the village grow in business and visitors; we want to promote the various activities this area has to offer.”

The event features a plethora of artists displaying their creations, including stained glass, wood carvings and turnings, pottery, quilts and paintings, furniture, home décor, candles, jewelry and much more.

Kids activities include a bouncy house and games for kids.

Batavia’s Art in August fair begins at 10 a.m. on Aug. 19 and runs until 4 p.m.

Watkins said there will be more than 80 different artists and artisans booths, along with food trucks and live bands in front of the court house.

For further information, please visit the event’s Facebook page or contact Watkins at 513-238-7913.

Reporter Megan Alley contributed to this report with her reporting on the event last year.

  1. I am a ceramic artist who has done art shows for the past 15 years. I am interested in participating in the Batavia Art in August show. Can you tell me when applications become available?

    Thank you
