Mark Calitri, president of the Clermont County Convention and Visitors Bureau, is leaving his position to head up the Owensboro Daviess County Convention and Visitors Bureau in Kentucky. Jim Comodeca, current Clermont County CVB board member, will step in to replace Calitri as president for the indefinite future.

Mark Calitri, who has led the Clermont County CVB for the past four years, recently accepted the position of president and chief executive officer of the Owensboro Daviess County Convention and Visitors Bureau; Calitri’s wife’s family is from Owensboro.

Calitri submitted his resignation a little more than a week ago.

He is currently in the process of transitioning out of his role at the Clermont County CVB. His last day is set for June 1.

Jim Comodeca, who has served as a Clermont County CVB board member for the past four years, has agreed to step in to replace Calitri as president for the indefinite future.

“We have a fabulous board of directors who could not only have been happier with what Mark has done for us in moving us forward and developing our own events and creating a future for the CVB and Clermont County, but also leaving us better than the way he found us,” Comodeca said. “His leadership will be missed, but he’s left us in a very good position.”

Comodeca, who owns the Green Kayak Market & Eatery in the village of New Richmond, has already begun the process of transitioning into his new role.

“We have a lot of projects in process right now that are going to prove to be an economic force for the county, and I want to continue those projects forward without a hiccup,” Comodecasaid. “It’s imperative that we send the message to the community out there that nothing is going to change at the Clermont County Convention and Visitors Bureau and that we’re going to continue to be the economic force that we’ve become.”

Calitri spoke about the recent accomplishments of Clermont County CVB.

“In spite of a great many obstacles, the CVB has transformed. It’s now relevant and valuable to our community,” Calitri said.

He also reminisced about what he considers to be his greatest accomplishment during his tenure at the Clermont County CVB.

“The Kings Hammer Soccer [Club at the Red Barn facility] without the support of the CVB,” Calitri said. “This facility has created millions of dollars of economic impact to our community, and the future looks very bright.”
