The Ohio Beef Expo’s Judging Contest was held on March 17 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Over 400 youth participated in the contest, hosted by the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association (OCA) and the Ohio State University Extension.

Participants evaluated live cattle classes and were required to answer questions regarding those classes.

Participants were divided into junior and senior divisions. This contest would not have been possible without the valued donations of contest sponsors. The awards and lunch were sponsored by Ohio Soybean Farmers and Wood County Beef Producers.

Taking home the first place team award in the junior division was Wood County D. Team members included Anna Marie Nietz, Sally Nietz, Kennedi Smith and Carter Lampe. Senior division first place team honors went to the Talawanda/Butler Tech team comprised of Austin Garner, Jacob Schlicter, Wally Minges and Colleen Minges.
