On Sept. 22, the Felicity Franklin FFA attended the District 9 soils contest at the Lynchburg Loins Club park.

Four members competed in the urban judging team which placed 10th in the district; those members included Kolbie Brandenburg, Riley Pinger, Christina Bruegermann, and Sam Clark.

Four members also competed on the rural judging team which placed 17th in the district; those members included Wyatt Crozier, Tia Louiso, Jacob Mullen, and Ben Woodall.

The urban team evaluated texture of soil and if the land was suitable for different buildings. The rural team evaluated quality of the soil and how well it could produce certain crops.
