Union Township Police are investigating the death of an Amelia man on Oct. 31.
Officers responded to 4260 Mt. Carmel Tobasco Road at about 1:06 a.m. after receiving a call about an unresponsive male. Medics transported Brendann Payne, 22, to Anderson Mercy Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Payne’s obituary on Hay Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s website said that Payne was the father of Jordee Smith. He is also survived by his mother, Kimberly Funk. Visitation is on Nov. 10 from 5 p.m. until the service begins at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Robin Williams Hoge, on behalf of Funk, started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Payne’s funeral expenses.
