The Wilson Brothers Building was sold in an auction on Oct. 8.

Joel T. Wilson, one of the Wilson brothers, died on June 21. The Clermont County Auditor lists the owner as Wilson N Laverne, who purchased it from Joel T. Wilson and N Laverne on July 5.

Prior to that, Joel T. Wilson and N Laverne purchased it from John E. Wilson for $150,000 on June 2, 2008.

Mike Brown, who owns Mike Brown PM, LLC and Mike Brown Construction, LLC, purchased the building at the auction. The closing date is set for Oct. 31.

Brown, who manages and builds commercial and residential properties, has worked in Clermont County before but never Batavia.

“I’ve always liked the Batavia area,” Brown said.

He added, “It was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. It worked out fine, I’m very happy with the purchase.”

Brown plans to remodel the inside and rent space in the building.

“It’s pretty dated,” he said.

There is one tenant in the building currently, who Brown has met with and who plans to stay in the building. Brown will do further research on remodeling once the purchase closes. He looks forward to seeing how everything turns out.
