Mercy Health – Cincinnati, which provides advanced, quality, compassionate care in your neighborhood through its care network, announces that it is hosting a live breast cancer webinar its Facebook page (https://facebook.com/mercyswohio) at noon on Friday, October 28.
Susan Brown, executive director of Mercy Health’s cancer service line, will serve as moderator.
Participating in the webinar are breast imaging specialist Amy Argus, MD and Mercy Health Physician and breast surgeon Hilary Shapiro-Wright, DO.
Dr. Argus will address screening guidelines, why they change, how do people decide what’s right for them, the mammography process and when diagnostic follow-up might be indicated. She will also discuss special considerations for women with dense breasts, including mammography technology and notification laws.
Dr. Shapiro-Wright will talk about what happens after a diagnosis of breast cancer, what surgical options are available and how patient decide what course to follow. She will also address reconstructive options, risk factors, including genetic risk, how risk is determined and what follow-up in a high risk clinic is like.
Viewers will be able to present their questions to the doctors directly on Facebook.
