As the election gets closer and people begin to think more seriously about who they will vote for I have had several people ask me about the candidate Tom Bixler and his signs that read “a real Republican.”

The only real Republican candidate for Clermont County Commissioner is David Painter.

Mr. Painter is the only endorsed Republican candidate for this race because he won the Clermont County Republican Primary earlier this year for this Commissioner seat, which is why his name will be listed on the ballot with an “R” behind it and Bixler won’t have a party designation.  The back story on why Mr. Bixler’s name did not appear on your primary ballot is that he missed the Secretary of State’s filing deadline to run in the Republican primary, he said that he didn’t know that he should seek the Republican endorsement to run as a Republican, and he basically didn’t research or ask anyone how to run for county office.

If Mr. Bixler can’t follow directions or ask for help from the Board of Elections or the Republican Party I don’t think that he is qualified to be a county commissioner. Please remember when you vote in this upcoming election that the “Real Republicans” will be clearly marked on your ballot, with an “R” behind their name, with exception to the judicial races for which you’ll need to reference the Republican Sample Ballot Guide which will be mailed to your home and passed out at the polls on Nov. 8.

David Uible, Clermont County Commissioner and Chairman of the Clermont County Republican Party
