On Oct. 11, Clermont County Engineer Pat Manger announced the eastbound lane of traffic on Aicholtz Road in Union Township will be closed for about a month.

The project, with an estimated construction cost of $6.5 million, will reduce congestion on state Route 32 by providing another route for drivers to travel from the Eastgate area to Mt. Carmel Tobasco Road, according to officials.

Only westbound traffic will be able to travel the road until Nov. 23. It will reopen, although some work may still need to be done, said Deputy Engineer Doug Royer.

The detour is .69 miles long from Ivy Pointe Boulevard to Eastgate Blvd, according to a statement.

So far, construction crews have installed the culverts, the water main and other underground components.

“Everything’s moving according to schedule right now,” Royer said.

The project will likely be complete in August 2017.
