Colonel De Stewart of Colonel De’s Gourmet Herbs and Spices will be teaming with Rita Heikenfeld of Jungle Jim’s to present a cooking class at Living Spaces Custom Designs on Tuesday, October 18th.

The class, which will begin at 6:30 pm is titled “Easy Entertaining with Herbs & Spices” and will feature Beau Monde Spread on Grilled Baguette using Colonel De’s Seasoning, Heirloom Tomato Salad with Tarragon Vinaigrette using Colonel De’s Tarragon, Braised Beef with Red Wine with Autumn Vegetables in a Pumpkin Shell and finally Creme Brulee with torched Sugar Crust.

Spices used for the class will be available for purchase at the conclusion of the evening. The fee for this class is $35.00 with advanced registration required by Friday, October 14th at 5:00 pm

Both Stewart and Heikenfeld bring a wealth of experience to the Culinary table. Stewart owns three locations of stores located at Findlay Market, Eastgate Jungle Jim’s and a recently opened location in Northern Kentucky.

Stewart takes pride in “taking the common and makes it the uncommon.” He is the author of a book titled “All About Herbs and Spice” Heikenfeld, is an award-winning journalist, accredited family herbalist, cooking teacher and media personality. She additionally is the founder of abouteating.com, a blog highlighting many food topics.
