The award‐winning Cincinnati Sound Chorus is bringing the art of singing a cappella harmony in the barbershop style to the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio. Part of the Young Women In Harmony Programming is designed to educate young women in the American Art form of Barbershop music with singers and music‐ lovers in the community.

On Saturday, October 15, Girl Scouts (Cadette, Senior and Ambassadors) are invited to discover the joy of singing four‐part barbershop harmony. Come to a special workshop from 1‐5 p.m. at the Girl Scout Cincinnati Service Center 4930 Cornell Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242‐1804. Cost is $15.00 include patch. This Young Women In Harmony workshop is an introductory course in the fun and joy of singing in four‐part a cappella harmony. Girls will learn vocal skills, presentation skills, how to harmonize and blend in a chord. Workshop is developed around the activities needed to achieve the YWIH Scout Badge. The Cincinnati Sound Chorus (www.cincinnatisound.org) is comprised of 50 singers from ages 16 to 80 who come from a wide range of backgrounds and musical experience – all connected by a love of singing barbershop harmony. The group is led by Master Director Lynn Hartmuth and is the proud Fifth Place Medalist in the 2016 Harmony Heartland regional competition among choruses from parts of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia, Tennessee and Alabama. The chorus is a member of Sweet Adelines International

(www.sweetadelineintl.org), the largest women’s singing and vocal music education organization in the world.
