If you are 18 years of age or older and live in Pierce Township, you are welcome to apply for an open director position on the Clermont County Fair Board. Please note that the appointment is temporary since, by constitution, the position will be up for election during the 2017 fair. The winner of that election will serve a two year term with the next election year for Pierce Township being in 2019. The person appointed is welcome to be a candidate in those elections.

All interested parties should contact the fair in writing or by email. Please tell a little about yourself and why you are interested in the position. Include also your name, address, phone number, and email, if one exists.

Send letters of interest to Bill Scharber, 20 Swan Lane, Amelia, OH 45102, Attention: Nominating Committee. The deadline for submission is Friday, Sept. 30, 2016. All applicants must be willing to be interviewed for the position.

The Fair Board normally meets on the second Wednesday of each month. In addition to the main responsibility of planning and implementing the fair each summer, they maintain the grounds and make it available for many community and private events throughout the year. Directors are expected to attend meetings and help out with planning and putting on the fair. You must join the Clermont Co. Agricultural Society in order to hold a position on the Board. Additionally, the Clermont Co. Agricultural Society is a volunteer non-profit organization and directors are not salaried or paid hourly wages.
