A Loveland man was arrested after his 4-month-old daughter was found dead.

Charles Crawford, 25, reported Kaylynn missing on July 31 around 8:52 p.m. He told the Loveland Police Department that she was abducted from his car at Dollar General on Loveland Madeira Road, according to the police report.

Kaylynn Crawford was reported missing by her father, Charles, on July 31, 2016. She was later found dead.
Crawford was arrested on Aug. 1. Investigators found what they believe to be Kaylynn’s remains on Aug. 1 in the afternoon along the riverbank of the Little Miami River off of Glendale-Milford Road, along with her car seat, according to a press release from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.

During the investigation, officers found that the abduction story was fabricated, according to a press release from Vince Faris, Clermont County Prosecuting Attorney.

“Crawford ultimately gave statements to law enforcement officers indicating his direct involvement in the death of his daughter. He led officers directly to where her body was located along the Little Miami River near the Kelley Nature Reserve,” the release states.

Loveland Police Chief Dennis Sean Rahe requested that special agents with the Attorney General’s Crimes Against Children Unit, a division of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, lead the investigation. The Federal Bureau of Investigation also assisted.

Crawford is charged with aggravated murder. His bond hearing was held on Aug. 2 and his bond has been set at $2 million. Crawford is currently in the Clermont County Jail and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 9.
