A new admissions program at Tennessee Tech University will grant high school students and other residents of Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Hamilton, Highland and Warren counties in Ohio a substantial tuition reduction.

The program, called Eagle’s Reach, will begin this fall. Typically, out-of-state tuition costs about $23,000 a year. The typical tuition rate for a student who qualifies for the Eagle’s Reach program is about $12,000 a year.

“This new Eagle’s Reach program expands Tennessee Tech’s footprint in the Southeast, allowing us to reach beyond our state borders and provide a quality education to students in 13 other states. It will allow us to further diversify our student body, an important aspect of the university experience,” said Associate Vice President of Enrollment Robert Hodum.

At close to 11,000 students, Tennessee Tech provides a tight-knit community aspect to the typical college experience. Tech was recently elevated to a doctoral institution by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. The university was voted one of the top regional universities in the South for the last five years and is the top school in the state for stimulating economic mobility, according to the U.S. News and World Report and the Social Mobility Index respectively. Graduates leave with the least debt in the South and have the highest mid-career salary potential of any public university graduates in the state.

To qualify, students must graduate from a high school in a county within a 250-mile radius of the Cookeville campus and meet standard admissions requirements.

“As Tennessee Tech grows, our ability to offer an affordable education beyond our backyard grows as well,” said President Phil Oldham. “We’re proud that more than half our students graduate debt free. The Eagle’s Reach program highlights our belief that higher education should be a transformative and affordable experience for those who seek it.”

The state’s only public technological university, Tennessee Tech University offers more than 40 bachelor’s and 20 graduate programs on its 282-acre campus. With more than 200 student organizations, community service projects and intramural sports, TTU offers a full campus experience.
