American Legion Post #256 is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Benefit Poker Run will take place on Saturday, Aug. 6. Supporting the event is the ALR Post 256 Riders, Eagle Riders 3006, Moose Riders 2583 and DAV of Camp Dennison. Two deserving charities will benefit: The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund and Wags 4 Warriors.

The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund helps children receive an education after losing a parent in defense of this country. Wags 4 Warriors provides service dogs to veterans with service related disabilities.

The Poker Run is not a race. The participants will make stops at checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one.

The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run – at the American Legion post #256. Winning is purely a matter of chance and everyone seems to have a great time. More than 100 motorcycles participated in 2015. It is anticipated a larger turnout for 2016!

Registration and breakfast begins at 10 a.m. at the Loveland Moose Lodge, 227 East Loveland Avenue. The cost is $25 per bike plus $5 for passenger which includes the evening meal. Kickstands Up at 12 p.m.; last bike in by 5 p.m. Meal tickets are available for non-riders.

Activities at the American Legion Post #256 begin at 12 p.m.

There will be raffles, door prizes, split the pot drawings, pool, darts, giant Jenga, cornhole, shuffleboard and more! Live music begins at 4 p.m., with Jason Ritchie, Shutter Face, Crossfire, and Right Turn Clyde! Performing.
