The Ohio Veterans Home has been in Georgetown since 2003.

Since then, it has been a wonderful opportunity for members of our community to be engaged in a meaningful way in the community.

Since May of this year, there is a new volunteer coordinator at the Ohio Veterans Home who is looking to increase not only the number of volunteers at OVH, but also the variety of types of volunteers that give their service to our veterans.

Hanna Hopper, the Volunteer Coordinator, is looking to expand the current program to include individuals looking to volunteer as well as a large variety of community and special interest groups.

“My goal is to bring in as many different types of volunteers as possible, both individuals and groups” says Hopper. “We are seeking individuals who have a service heart and want to give their time to enhance the lives of our veterans. Volunteering does not require any special talent.

“Whether it be reading, writing, putting on plays, singing, or simply spending quality time with our veterans, your time is appreciated. I want everyone to know that there is a place for everyone to serve our veterans here at the Ohio Veterans Home. Our mission is “serving those who’ve served” and my job is to ensure that our mission is upheld to the best of my ability.”
