The Batavia Highway Patrol Post, with assistance from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Department of Transportation and the Owensville Police Department conducted an OVI checkpoint on US 50 in the village of Owensville, Clermont County on June 3 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. A total of 605 vehicles were checked; none of the drivers were found to be impaired.

Officers from participating agencies conducted saturation patrols in the area of the checkpoint from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. A total of 29 vehicles were stopped but no drivers were arrested for OVI.

Federal grant money supported the OVI checkpoint and saturation patrols.
