ExploraVision is a competition for K-12 students to combine their imaginations with the tools of science to create and explore a vision of a future technology.

Students work in groups to select a technology to explore what the technology does, how it works, and how, when and why it was invented.

The students then project into the future what the technology could be like in 20 years from now and determine what scientific breakthroughs need to occur to make it a reality. ExploraVision is part of the curriculum for Felicity-Franklin’s Byways Gifted Program.

ExploraVision selects 24 Regional Winners, one winner in grade level in each of six regions. Felicity-Franklin’s 3rd grade Byways team of Schulyer Crozier, Carolyn Henderson and Kelly Spires have been chosen as the K-3 Regional Winner for their Future Fun Box idea.

The Future Fun Box is an automatic school box with voice recognition and automatic door. It has all the supplies needed on command. All the student has to do is ask for a certain supply and the door opens and the supply comes out and when ready to put back door opens and supply goes in.

As a regional winner, the team will receive the following awards:

ï‚· A Toshiba laptop computer for our classroom with web design software
ï‚· A team plaque
ï‚· An ExploraVision Regional Winner Banner
ï‚· A framed certificate for Coach and team members
ï‚· A Toshiba 8 GB Excite Tablet for Coach and each team member
