Michael Potee
Michael C. Potee, Jr., 36 of Goshen, was convicted by a jury of Involuntary Manslaughter, two counts of Corrupting Another with Drugs, Trafficking in Heroin and Trafficking in Drugs on April 22. The charges stemmed from Potee selling heroin that was laced with fentanyl on May 20, 2015 that resulted in the death of one individual and the overdose of another. The prosecution was handled by Chief Felony Prosecutor Darren Miller and Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Katie Terpstra. Detective Josh Bail of the Union Township Police Department was the lead investigator in the case. The prosecution relied on the testimony of the surviving victim, key testimony from Detective Ken Mullis and other officers from the UTPD, cell phone technology, and the cooperation of the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office to hold Potee accountable for his actions.

This was the first jury trial in Clermont County where a drug trafficker was charged with Involuntary Manslaughter for selling heroin that resulted in the death of another.

Potee will be sentenced June 6 by Judge Richard Ferenc and faces the possibility of 20 years in prison.
