The Milford High School Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that two members of its Class of 2016 will continue their athletic careers on the collegiate level.

The student-athletes that have committed to continuing their academic and athletic futures include Alison McClure (Women’s Swimming & Water Polo-Penn State University) and Kelsi Spillman (Women’s Soccer-Wright State University).

McClure earned All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference honorable mention honors this winter after earning a sixth place finish in the 200 freestyle.

She also qualified to participate at the 2016 Southwest District Championships as a member of both the 400 freestyle and 200 medley relay squads.

During the fall water polo season, McClure helped the Eagles place fifth in the State of Ohio and finish with a 19-14-2 record.

At Penn State, McClure will compete for head coach Tim Murphy who just completed his third season as the head coach of the Nittany Lions.

Alison is the daughter of Ed and Liz McClure.

In her first season as the Eagles’ full-time starter at goalie, Spillman was tabbed a second team All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference selection.

For the year, Spillman posted four shutouts, while recording 86 saves between the pipes and even picking up one assist. She helped the Eagles to a final record of 5-6-6 overall.

At Wright State, Spillman will play for head coach Pat Ferguson who just completed his 12th season at the helm of the Raiders program.

His tenure includes nine consecutive winning seasons for WSU. Kelsi is the daughter of Kenneth and Kelly Spillman.

These two commitments bring the total number for the MHS Class of 2016 to 16.

Further signee information will be shared throughout the 2015-16 academic year as it is finalized.
