Price Hill Will is commissioning five Cincinnati artists to create portraits of musicians of color. Each of the five portraits will celebrate the life and contributions of a revolutionary musician of color, and will eventually be on permanent display at the Warsaw Avenue Firehouse. MYCincinnati, a free youth orchestra program, uses the Firehouse daily for rehearsals and concerts. Its 90 students and families call the Firehouse home, and the newly commissioned portraits will help make the space more inspiring, welcoming, and empowering. During the first year, each of the five portraits will be displayed at businesses and organizations along the East Price Hill Business District, with copies displayed at the Firehouse. After one year, all five original portraits will be installed at the Firehouse, where they will be on permanent display. The project is supported by Summerfair Cincinnati.
