The Clermont County Commissioners approved a resolution to take action against customers who are delinquent in their water or sewer bills, or both, during the April 6 board meeting.

The commissioners listened as Administrator Stephen Rabolt explained why the action was necessary.

People who have water and/or sewer service who are residents living in and owning property have a contractual agreement with the Clermont County Water Resources Department. Some failed to pay their bills in the required time, and therefore that bill is going to be certified to the auditor for placement on the tax listed duplicate as a lien until it is paid in full, Rabolt said.

There are approximately 10 pages, with at least 20 people listed on each page, of residents who are behind in their payments. A lien will be placed on their properties until the delinquent bill is paid.

Delinquent accounts for utility charges amounts to $19,214 for sewer charges, $16,470 for water charges and $13,339 for miscellaneous utility charges.

In addition, the commissioners approved a resolution to renew an existing agreement for the Clermont County Court of Common Pleas Jury system software maintenance program. The county has contracted with Jury Management System Computer Program for a total amount of $2,474 for several years.

The commissioners also took the following actions:

– Approve the release of maintenance bonds of $1,100 for Batavia Township for Crosspointe Subdivision and $2,526 for Glenwood Trails Subdivision for the installation of water main extensions within the Clermont County Water Resources Department;

– Approve a sewer easement with right of re-entry for repair and replacement relative to the proposed Jackson Woods Subdivision in Miami Township within the Clermont County Water Resources Department;

– Approved the closing of Branch Hill-Guinea Road in Miami Township beginning Wednesday, April 6 through Tuesday May 10 and Saltair-Maple Road, beginning Monday April 4 through Friday April 15;
