Mary Lee Deutenberg, 84 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Wednesday February 3, 2016 at the Crestwood Care Center.

Lee was a graduate from Batavia High School and the Bethesda School of Nursing. Lee worked at the Shriners Hospital, Marie Mont Mercy and Bethesda Hospital.

She was born in Batavia on January 27, 1932, the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Flutena (Dalton) Nester. Besides her parents she was also preceded by her sons, Michael J., David A. and Kevin Deutenberg, one daughter, Marcia Cooper, four brothers, Wilbur Nester, Dorsey Vernon Nester, Henry Leo Nester and Clinton Dale Nester, four sisters, Juanita Galinger, Bessie Jayne Bruegge, Reba Ellen Herman and Barbara Ann Cole.

Lee is survived by her two brothers, James Allen (Ruth) Nester of Batavia, and Jesse Nester of Georgetown, four grandchildren, Tayler Kevin Cooper, Ethan Deutenberg, Danetta Deutenberg and Jeremy Deutenberg; son-in-law, Bill “Pete” Cooper and several nieces and nephews.

On behalf of Lee’s wishes she is to be cremated. Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
