Recently Clermont County Water Department announced the replacement/switching out all residual and business water meters beginning in February 2016 and ending sometime in early 2018.

The new generation water meter will be read via a wireless connection which will eliminate the manual reading every other month. The new meters for residents or property owners have no extra cost, per billing, as Clermont County Water has planned the change for some time and are covering all expense of the project and the new meters.

Although the new meters will be more accurate and may report more water usage than the older meter; causing a slight increase in usage due to accuracy.  Additionally new meters can alert the water department immediately of increase water usage, as in leaks, as well as, provide enhanced services for customers.

The supplier of the new system, HD Supply Waterworks, has contracted with  US Bronco Services to do all installations. Installers will carry identification, work in a 4 person crew, drive vehicles or trucks with the “Clermont County” logo displayed so our residents can easily identify water meter installers.

Several days prior to installation a door hanger will be placed on your front door notifying you of the date and estimated time of installation. Further explaining the installation process and facts about the new equipment and system.

The installer will attempt to advise customers just minutes prior to installation.  Installation will take about 30 minutes in most cases- you will not have running water during installation.  Customers can assist installers by removing any obstructions to the meter lid and keep pets away from the installation area.  Currently Goshen Township has about 3400 customers getting new meters.

Clermont County Water Department serves over 41,000 customers county wide, all of which will be getting a new meter within the next 2 years. Be safe.
