A man caused a six-car accident on Dec. 9 when he had a diabetic emergency.

A car was stopped at a traffic light when Robert Brock, 72 of Batavia, had a diabetic emergency and lost control. He hit the vehicle in front of him, along with three other vehicles, which pushed one of those vehicles into another vehicle, said Ohio State Patrol Sargent CJ Hayes.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Glen Este-Withamsville Road around 3:41 p.m., Hayes said.

Three lanes of state Route 32 east were closed for about an hour and a half, which caused a lot of traffic, Hayes said.

Driving the other cars were Jamie Abrams, 40 of Milford, Lauren Simpson, 29 of Batavia, James Spruance, 71 of Hillsboro, Harold Waters, 52 of Amelia, and John Workman, 65 of Batavia.

Two were injured and one was possibly injured, but none had life-threatening injuries. Four cars had to be towed, two of which were likely totaled, Hayes said.
