Donnie A. Haitz, age 75 of Maysville, Kentucky and formerly of Ripley, Ohio, died Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the Hospice Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville, Kentucky.  He was a retired construction worker, a member of St. Michael Church in Ripley, a member of the Knights of Columbus and was inducted into the Ripley Athletics Hall of Fame.  He was involved with the Ripley Pee Wee Basketball Boosters for many years and coached many area children during that time.  Donnie was born July 2, 1940 in Ripley, Ohio the son of the late Jack and Mae (Gibbons) Haitz.  He was also preceded in death by one son – Timothy Allen Haitz.

Donnie is survived by his significant other – Kay Flaugher; two daughters – Tammy Polley (Kenny) of Georgetown, Ohio and Taryn Burton (Andy Helbling) of Ripley, Ohio; one son – Ty Haitz (Debbie) of West Union, Ohio; one stepson – Michael Flaugher; six grandchildren – Cody Polley (Andrea), Chelsea Lewis (Dalton), Jessika Burton, Jalyn Burton, Nancy Kay Flaugher and Michael Flaugher, Jr.; three sisters – Elaine Stewart (J.K.) of Mason County, Kentucky, Shirley Moran (Gary) of Ripley, Ohio and Anita Flaugher (Myron) of Ripley, Ohio; one brother – Paul Haitz of Ripley, Ohio; the mother of his children – Nancy Haitz of Ripley, Ohio; special friend – Maci Haitz and her family of Ripley.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 23, 2015 at St. Michael Church in Ripley, Ohio.  Rev. Dohrman Byers will be the Celebrant.  Visitation was from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 22 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley.  Interment Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley.
