The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley presents its Fourth Annual Hope Classic High School Basketball Showcase, slated for December 12 at the historic Struthers Fieldhouse on the campus of Struthers High School. Also, the Girard Indians girl’s hoopsters will play host to Milford High School on Friday, December 11 at 6 p.m.
The showcase will once again feature four games (two boys and two girl’s games with all proceeds benefiting The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley. Since its inception, the event has raised nearly $15,000 for kids that are chronically/terminally ill children in the Valley.
Teams set to participate in this year’s showcase include Cincinnati Milford, Girard, Austintown, South Range and Struthers on the girls side with South Range, Bristol, Lisbon and Struthers on the boy’s side of the ledger.
2015 Hope Classic Showcase lineup:
-6 p.m.: Milford vs. Girard (Girls-Girard High School)
Struthers Fieldhouse-Struthers, Ohio
-3 p.m.: Austintown vs. Milford (Girls)
-4:30 p.m.: South Range vs. Struthers (Girls)
-6 p.m.: Bristol vs. South Range (Boys)
-7:30 p.m.: Lisbon vs. Struthers (Boys)
Presale tickets will be on sale for $7 (general admission), beginning November 16 (at 8 a.m. on-line at HopeMV.org). One ticket is good for admission to all four games on Saturday. Ticket prices the day of the event are $7 for Adults and $4 for children, under 12 years-old.
The Hope Foundation has showcased some of the very best talent and teams from the area and throughout the state and this year is no exception.
The foundation brings the Cincinnati Milford Eagles to this year’s showcase and marks the return to the area of head coach Kristi Echelberry-McKenney, former YSU & Crestwood High School star and a member of the Penguins’ championship teams in the ‘90s.

It’s great to be able to make a difference in the lives of terminally children.
