The Cincinnati Horticultural Society has released the theme and some special event highlights for next year’s Cincinnati Flower Show, taking place from April 13-17, 2016.

The 2016 show themed, “An International Adventure,” will return to Yeatman’s Cove on the banks of the Ohio River in Downtown Cincinnati next April. The show will feature several new international themed horticultural and food events throughout the week featuring both local and national celebrities.

According to Cincinnati Flower Show Director JW Fleckenstein, “We are excited to be back at Yeatman’s Cove in 2016, and are planning an even more spectacular event with an international theme that embraces the many cultures of our sister cities throughout the world. We were thrilled with the 16,000 attendee turnout last year and are hoping to attract 25,000 visitors next year.”

Horticultural and food enthusiasts will enjoy elaborate garden displays, beautiful containers, brimming window boxes, dramatic table settings, inspiring lectures, great shopping in the Marketplace and tantalizing treats and culinary inspirations at the Fine Food Show and special events.

New to this year’s event offerings will be An Evening In Munich dinner, an international wine tasting event with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, an international Sister Cities cocktail and dinner celebration, Brides and Blooms, and a Battle of the Chefs cook-off featuring some of Cincinnati’s favorite chefs. Many of last year’s events will also be returning. They include the popular Bourbon Tasting with local mixologist Molly Wellmann, Spring Fling featuring the Naked Karate Girls Band, and the always-popular English Afternoon Tea.

Fleckenstein indicated that several local and national celebrities have already confirmed their participation. Among these are local horticultural experts Ron Wilson and Rita Heikenfeld, local celebrity chef Jean-Robert de Cavel, former White House Florist and proprietor of Interieurs et Fleurs Laura Dowling, floral designer and author of Flowers of the Heart Sharon McGukin and British author Andrea Wulf.
