Elsie P. Minnick, age 95 of Marathon, Ohio passed away peacefully with her family by her side Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Forest Hill Care Center in Anderson Township, Ohio. She was a graduate of Mt.Orab High School, Wilmington College and Xavier University. Elsie spent thirty years as a principal in the Williamsburg and Forest Hills School District. She was dedicated and committed to the goal of working with students, teachers and parents to provide an excellent learning environment for children. Elsie was baptized at the age of twelve in the Methodist Faith and tried to live her life by “The Golden Rule” – Do unto others as you would have others do unto you. She loved and appreciated nature, her friends and especially her family. Elsie was born February 9, 1920 in Norwood, Ohio the daughter of the late Gerald and Irene (Bodnum) Phillips. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband – Walter Lee Minnick in 2000 and three sisters – Norma Cleaveland, Lillian Velkoff and Evelyn Mount.

Mrs. Minnick is survived by one daughter – Genevieve “Genny” Brownell and husband Robert of Evansville, Indiana; two grandchildren – Bradley R. Brownell and wife Paula of Clemson, South Carolina and Nancy Brownell Gorbett and husband Gregory of Geneva, Illinois and five great grandchildren – Abby and Kate Brownell and Emma, Bobby and Daniel Gorbett.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, Ohio.  Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Friday, November 20, 2015 at the funeral home.  A dinner will follow at Receptions, 4450 Eastgate South Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio  45245.
