James Robert “Bobby” Groh, age 74 of Ripley Ohio died Monday, October 12, 2015 in the same residence he was born. He was a heavy equipment operator for Glenn Rhoades Construction from 1960 – 1974 and Dayton Power & Light Company from 1974 until his retirement in 2004. He also spent many years farming and doing his own construction work throughout the community. He enjoyed going to round track racing with his brothers and restoring Ford tractors and cars with his son. Mr. Groh served seven years in the United States Army Reserve. Bobby was born August 27, 1941 in Ripley, Ohio the son of the late Frederick and Dehlia (Meadows) Groh. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers – Henry and Fred Groh, Jr. and one sister – Ruby Stamper. Mr. Groh is survived by his wife of forty-nine years – Carol (Klump) Groh, whom he married February 19, 1966; one son – Anthony Groh of Ripley, Ohio; one brother – Louis William “Bill” Groh and wife Betty of Ripley, Ohio; one sister-in-law – Lillie Groh of Ripley, Ohio; one brother-in-law – Jessee Stamper of Georgetown, Ohio; one half-brother – Larry Dorsey of Colorado and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Michael Comer officiated. Visitation was from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.
