The Ohio Department of Public Safety for Traffic Safety has awarded the Union Township Police Department a grant in the amount of $46,301. This grant, consisting of the Impaired Driving Enforcement and the Selective Traffic Enforcement programs, will begin Oct. 1 and run through September, 2016.

The grant will fund officers to work selective traffic enforcement and impaired driver enforcement and promote traffic safety in the township by enforcing laws such as speed, red light, moving, and impaired driving violations.

In October, officers will be working the first traffic blitz during Halloween and will be highly visible.
