Nearly 70 local business leaders from a variety of companies recently attended the Hispanic Business Roundtable: A Conversation on Jobs with U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio). The session, held recently at the Amelia, OH, headquarters of American Modern Insurance Group,® covered a wide range of topics relating to the current jobs market.

The roundtable was presented by the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA), a business organization for Hispanic business professionals. Discussion topics included addressing the workforce skills gap, worker development and training as well as best practices for recruiting and retaining diverse talent.

“One of the key directives of NSHMBA is connecting Hispanic talent to opportunities and assisting leading companies with recruitment in the region,” said Kerri Coburn, VP Client Operations & Personal Lines Underwriting for American Modern, who also serves as the Compliance Officer and Secretary for the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of NSHMBA.
