Mr. Washburn,

I appreciate your concern with the parking situation at Batavia Middle School. BYF and CCYFL are blessed to be able to use the Batavia Middle School to host these games.

Without the schools generosity BYF would not have a place to play and would not be able to operate, leaving over 250 kids and your grandson with NO opportunity to play football and cheer.

Parking is limited and our games are popular when the weather in nice. Sometimes people park in spots that are not legal spots and the neighbors on the street are blocked and call the police. The police then visit the PA booth to ask for help to get cars to move for the neighbors. Neither BYF nor CCYFL have any control over this situation, but I can say in the last 9 years that I have been associated with the league no one to my knowledge has been ticketed or towed. The police realize this is a youth event and do their duty for the neighbors while also helping the youth league operate. This situation only occurs when the crowd is large and only on the few (usually 3-4) home games BYF host.

The golf cart is used to get the license plates and description of the vehicles in these cases and get the info to the PA just to get them to move into a legal spot. By doing this the police realize BYF is doing their best to help the problem and are very understanding.

I apologize that you felt threatened, and would be happy to have you visit one of the BYF or CCYFL Board meetings to voice your concerns and offer any ideas to fix the few problem times that exist. Once again, thank you for your concern in this matter.
