A Pierce Township man was arrested for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor after a mother found information on her daughter’s phone.

Dwayne Mitchell, 25, is charged with three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and one count of pandering obscenity with a minor, according to a press release from Pierce Township.

Mitchell was indicted on July 21 with those charges, said Lieutenant Edward Dye.

The charges are involving three girls, two from Clermont County and one from eastern Kentucky. One girl from Clermont County is 15 and the other two are 14, said Pierce Township Investigator Erica Haught.

Mitchell was arrested on July 15. Haught wanted to arrest him so that she could get him off the streets and prevent him from having sexual contact with any other girls.

“He confessed to having a sexual relationship with the two females from the area as well as having a sexually explicit photo of the juvenile from eastern Kentucky on his phone,” Haught said.

Mitchell met the two Clermont County girls because they all lived in the St. Andrews apartment complex. He met the girl in eastern Kentucky through one of the girls in Clermont County, although the two never met in person, Haught said.

The events have been going on for about six months, said Dye.

Mitchell had sex with juveniles more than once, but only received photos from the juvenile in Kentucky once, Dye said.

Mitchell was discovered when a suspicious mother of the 15-year-old girl started going through her daughter’s phone and her social media accounts on Facebook and Kik, Haught said. The mother then reported the information she found to the Pierce Township Police.

Haught strongly encourages all parents to go through their children’s social media accounts to make sure their children are protected against people like Mitchell.
