Grant Career Center Valedictorian, Courtney Riggs, shares an illuminating science lesson with the Class of 2015 to help them prepare for their futures!
Grant Career Center proudly recognizes the 143 seniors who completed their career training requirements and earned their career and technical certificates from the Career Center. The students received their diplomas from their home high schools of Bethel-Tate, Felicity-Franklin, New Richmond, or Williamsburg.

The Senior Recognition and Awards Ceremony was held at Bethel-Tate High School on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Students, parents, guests, and Career Center staff celebrated the academic achievements of the students as they completed the secondary phase of their education. Students received their Career and Technical Education Certificates and Career Passports in the ceremony that concluded their training at Grant.

Honored as Valedictorian at the Career Center was Courtney Riggs, an Engineering Design student from Felicity-Franklin High School. Honored as the Salutatorian was Allied Health Science student Amber Arthur, from Felicity-Franklin High School.

Students named as Outstanding Senior in each of their respective programs were Erin McKee, Allied Health Science; Ryan Wilson, Auto Collision; Travis Kinnard, Automotive Service Technology; Chloe Henderson, Biotechnology; Jacob Zieger, Carpentry; Brittany Blanton, Career Based Intervention; Alejandra Rodriguez, Cosmetology; Ashley Redmond, Criminal Justice; Courtney Jervis, Culinary Arts; Courtney Riggs, Engineering Design; Alexandra Zellner, Horticulture; Haley Proffitt, Medical Information Tech; Matthew White, Metal Fabrication; and Lexi Jump, Teacher Academy.

Other awards presented during the Ceremony included the James Lumpkins Award for a student pursuing a career in the Military Service, received this year by Austin Morgan, Carpentry. Travis Kinnard, an Automotive Service Technology student, was the recipient of the Gary Caseltine Memorial Award, an award presented by Teresa Caseltine in memory of her husband, to a student who is entering the Marines. Other scholarship awards included four Success Grants presented to Candice Kirtley, Cosmetology; Dalton Henderson, Engineering Design; Wendy Appelmann, Criminal Justice; and Jeremy Rowan, Automotive Service Technology.

The Keith Boys Grant, a $500 scholarship, presented annually to an outstanding Engineering Design student pursuing education in that field, was given to Courtney Riggs. A $500 scholarship developed by the Grant Career Center staff, and designated as The Grant Faculty and Staff Award, was presented to four outstanding seniors: Erin McKee and Kylie Sawyers, Allied Health Science; Chloe Henderson, Biotechnology; and Lexi Jump, Teacher Academy. Three Faculty and Staff Apprenticeship Tool Scholarships of $250 were given to Metal Fabrication students James Applegate and Matthew White, and Carpentry student Jacob Zieger, who have been accepted into local apprenticeship programs.
