The Taliaferro Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Southern Ohio Veterans Home, Georgetown, have recently worked together for the development of the Veterans Home Memorial Project in the front lawn of the Home’s main entrance. The SOVH Volunteer Committee is giving all citizens in Brown County an opportunity to participate

The memorial is now a place to honor members of the military who have given their lives in the line of duty and those who served our country. This is a brick memorial engraved with the names of past members of the military and wars who served their county.

The Taliaferro Chapter has purchased a total of thirty stones. Each stone is engraved and honors three Revolutionary War Patriots buried in Brown County. There is a total of 150 Patriot stones who have been compiled under the direction of the Adjutant General and Military Registrar of the United States Armed Services. The next two years will complete the chapter’s project.
