The Hamersville Flash 15U select baseball team started their 2015 season by competing in a tournament held at Roselawn Park in Cincinnati June 5-7.

The park was recently renovated by the Cincinnati Reds and the Urban League with a stadium on the grass field, two turf fields and a beautiful indoor facility which often brings in some of the best teams in state and out-of-state to compete.

In the 15U division, the teams were the Force out of Cleveland, the USA Athletic Nationals out of Indianapolis, the Southwest Stallions out of Columbus, The Sting Black of Ohio, the Mustangs of west Cincinnati, and the Flash.

The Flash made it through pool play unbeaten at 2-0 with great pitching performances from Kyle Blaha and Aric France.

In game one, the Flash knocked off the USA Athletic Nationals 4-1 behind Kyle Blaha’s stellar pitching, and a big triple by Stephen Krause.

In game two, the Flash erupted for 19 hits while mercy ruling the Mustangs to secure the No. 2 seed for Sunday’s elimination round.

On Sunday, June 7, the Flash won the semi-final bout over the Sting on a two-hit shutout by Stephen Krause and big hitting that included a triple by Adam Seal in an 8-0 victory.

In the tournament finals, the Flash faced the Mustangs a second time and this time it was a battle.

The Flash got a great pitching performance from Evan Baugh and a huge sacrifice fly to score the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning from Aric France.

Jacob McCaleb came in to close the door in the sixth and seventh innings. The Flash won the tournament and took home the tournament rings that each player received for winning the tourney.

The Flash play in Columbus, Dayton, and in South Carolina in the Cal Ripken World Series in upcoming games.
