The second annual Concert in the Country is a fundraiser to pay for improvements to the 4-H and Future Farmers of America livestock facilities at the Clermont County Fairgrounds.

The event features acts such as Dan Varner, Jamison Road, Jason Owens, Taylor Shannon and Kentucky Myle.

Admission is $5, and food, beer and camping are available.

In addition to musical acts, the event will also include an organized motorcycle ride. Registration costs $25 for two riders and begins at 11:30 a.m. The ride starts at 1:30 p.m.

“Our attendance goal for this event is the more the merrier,” Staci Taylor, who is helping to organize the concert. “We’re also trying to utilize matching grants to raise funds for the barn and show arena.”

Taylor is part of a subcommittee of the Clermont County Agricultural Society. The subcommittee was created to fundraise to pay for capital improvements for the aging building at the fairgrounds.

“I have been a 4-H advisor for 22 years,” said Taylor. “I showed hogs, lambs and cows.”

Taylor said her children are now also involved in 4-H. Her son is doing an Ohio bird project and her daughter shows hogs and sows.

“We’re currently using the old barn, which is run down,” said Taylor. “The pens are missing doors. We hope to have a great turnout because the 4-H and FSA groups really deserve a new facility.”

Taylor said that anyone interested in 4-H and FSA should look into getting involved.

“We have such wonderful 4-H and FSA programs here. There is something for everybody,” said Taylor. “It teaches responsibility and leadership.”

The Concert in the County is June 6 from noon to 10 p.m. at the Clermont County Fairgrounds.
