Wolfpen Pleasant Hill Road should be reopened by June 1, after a landslide washed away about 100 feet of the road in March.

Construction has been going well, said Doug Royer, Clermont County deputy engineer. The contractor, who went under contract April 1, is putting in a drill pier wall.

The Ohio Public Works Commission is funding 75 percent of the project and the rest is funded from the engineer’s budget. The project will cost $250,000, Royer said.

The high water eroded the stream bank, which caused a section of the road to wash away on March 14, Clermont County Engineer Pat Manger said in March. About 100 feet of the southbound lane near 5311 Wolfpen Pleasant Hill Road was gone, which left the guardrail and posts hanging.

Drivers have to take a detour utilizing U.S. 50 and state Route 131, said Manger.
